Cake

218 Cake

Weddings, weddings… They’re the flavour of the season! ;-) Don’t know if this cake is a traditional version, but I think not. I rather like it, it’s Belgian chocolate (that means it’s dark, no? – because I like it bittersweet) and French vanilla; and there are hues of salmon pink in the background of this illustration to offset the cake beautifully. (I am only rambling!) Congratulations to all those of you who are getting married, have already gotten married, celebrating anniversaries or setting dates, etc.-etc. I wish you love, light, magic and sweetness; and make sure you are marrying an equal, a friend, one who will LOVE and TREAT you right… (Whom you will want to do the same for, D-UH!) ♥

Okay, so Sugar is playing in the background right now, by Maroon 5; I LOVE THAT TRACK! The video is even better. Toodles friends, I’m off to watch Cake now. I’ve been watching a lot of movies this past week, and now I’m catching up on all the nominated ones. Oh, and hey – I’ll be uploading some things on my Tumblr shop, soon – so please follow me over there? (Click, click, click, click.)

The Notebook

217 The Notebook

As is tradition, every January (feels special when it’s a new year) – I have to buy myself a pretty, new journal or notebook… Because it feels like a fresh start, and I love doodling and writing down things – so it just feels much nicer when you have a lovely book to jot down what you’re thinking – in. This year, I haven’t picked up any books yet because I haven’t found any in the city that have struck my fancy except for this beautiful set online by Rifle Paper Co., aptly titled Vintage Blossoms – ooh, how I lovelovelovelove Anna’s works!

This is what they say about the notebooks on the Rifle Paper Co. website that mildly excited me, “The notebooks feature lay-flat binding, a high quality binding process that allows the pages to stay flat while you’re writing or sketching.” Coveting these books for now because they might be slightly expensive to order (with shipping, etc.) but um, you never know… I might just cave in and order them a little before my birthday. (Okay, fairly certain that I’m gonna do that. I’m an idiot! Where do you usually buy your colourful/pretty notebooks and journals from?)

The Girl in the Red Coat

168 The Girl in the Red Coat

I thought really hard about what to illustrate for this particular post (I hope you’ve been keeping track of these?), and then inspiration struck! In the form of Alison DiLaurentis (read: Pretty Little Liars), and the fact that the next few days mark the last of winter in Bombay (it’s very sad, mais non?).

Do you like it? My sister Racile doesn’t think much of this artwork! I don’t have a red blazer (er, coat) but I have thought about getting one. But first, I must wear my new pink Zara one (I’m a horrible hoarder, yes!). And I don’t think I’ve asked you this before – is there anything that you would particularly like me to illustrate, step-by-step? Provided that it’s something that I can carry out, or is on par with what I usually write about (draw) – over here, on the blog. Let me know, okay? :-)
