The Merry Christmas Polka

214 The Merry Christmas Polka

These are a few things on my list… There’s so much to look forward to!

1. Buying a drawing tablet; it has been on my list of “Things to Do!” for ever, now… I am looking at a few options, so hopefully it should be with me, soon.

2. The Jupiter Skye Shop – Well, I will be selling some of my wares (yes, truly) on Tumblr, for starters…

3. Reading more books, and setting myself up to complete more challenges based on the same.

4. Learning more about make-up! (At least, the basics. Would love to attend a class/workshop conducted by Virginia Holmes of FAT MU or perhaps, Shrutika Rao – that would be if she is teaching… )

5. D-R-A-W-I-N-G

6. J-E-W-E-L-L-E-R-Y

7. Striking out unrealistic goals from my very many lists… There are goals that seem petty, and are just not ME anymore. (This has come from my ability to let go! Passionately following this mantra.)

8. Writing the book, or well – one of the many, I have always wanted to…♥

On that note, I wish all of you good tidings as you chart out a few simplistic goals for yourself… Or just things, to look forward to accomplishing/doing in the coming year. Lots of LOVE!

Dawn of the Present Moon

213 Dawn of the Present Moon

Brown paper packages tied up with string… These are a few of my favourite things! Ooh, how I wanted to take my own pictures for this post, and write an ode describing (and entailing) my love for wrapping presents the old school way… BUT I DID NOT. Okay, but pish posh! Brown paper lends that old, vintage touch to otherwise regular gift paper; I love the rustic feel, and there are so many ways with which to decorate your present.

Because I’m fond of moonlight and roses, lover-ly thoughts, the 1920s and all things Parisian and vintage – I felt most inspired by this D.I.Y idea that I came across on Green Wedding Shoes – for me personally, brown paper looks lovely with deep red and dusty gold tones… I am certain that you can find some silk flowers lying around at home, or old ones that your mother wants to discard, and refurbish them a little bit (before using them to fasten on top of the gift) by painting them gold.

The Pudding Face on the Wall

212 The Pudding Face on the Wall

I would feel ooh-very-honourable if the world – ever – at some point, began to associate (or recognise) my work as those creations of that illustrator who has got it bad for confetti prints! Wouldn’t that be wonderful? Okay, so I have printed a few of these to sell to whomever wants to pick a set of them up as gift labels, or to include as stationery in envelopes (carrying greeting cards). There are a few other designs in the collection as well! Thought to have it based in Bombay because I don’t want to get orders wrong or mixed up before December 25; please e-mail me if you are interested, or leave me a comment below. (I will write back to you!)

P.S. I know that I have been saying this for a whiiiile and I have been a dreadful dog about the whole process, but I should be selling on a separate Tumblr account, soon. (That would be next year!) Follow me to know more… Ooh, and send me some LOVE! (Apart from LUCK, because I would require some of the stuff to continue on such an inspired note.)

O Christmas Tea { GIVEAWAY }

211 O Christmas Tea { GIVEAWAY }

Giveaway#4 is LIVE! Remember I had said that I wanted to host one more giveaway before the year ended… Well, it didn’t honestly seem likely or possible. Abandoned hope of sorts, and then a cheerful connoisseur of trunks of tea in the form of Snigdha Manchanda came a-knockin’! Christmas miracle, y’all. Okay, chitter-chatter aside – I am very excited to be giving away this box of tea. Part of a Limited Edition range by Tea Trunk; Mulled Spiced Tea combines the classic flavours of Christmas (That would be cinnamon, star anise and clove, accented by hearty apple, orange and cherry notes… Teas really are a lot like fragrances!), and sports a package coat designed by none other than (one of my favourite illustrators of all time… ) ALICIA SOUZA! Wowza.

Reminiscent of a rich, indulgent plum cake, I could not think of a better giveaway for this time of the year. This tea is inspired by mulled wine, and is made with whole leaf black Assam tea. Snigdha suggests drinking it as is, or adding in a splash of dark rum (Don’t mind if I do!)… Would it not be lovely sipping it as you sit by an open window at home on Christmas day, and while some of your folks are sleeping, you are happily reading a copy of Little Women (Okay, I am too excited!)… And now, the steps.

What’s in the Box?

1. Christmas tea! The BOX of Mulled Spiced Tea is what you are going to win, oh sweet reader. I believe it would be perfect for all of you tea drinkers out there, more so if you love Christmas just as much as I do.

2. Favourite feature? Snigdha was gracious enough to sponsor this box of tea for the giveaway; and, also, the illustrations created by Alicia are reason enough for me. (They are so adohreebal!)

Rules?

The rules are simple! (This giveaway is for Indian residents, only.)

1. Comment here on what excites you about/why you would like to win this delightful tin of tea.
2. Follow Tea Trunk on both Facebook & Instagram; this is not optional either. :-)

(Brownie points will be awarded to you if you are to ‘Like’ my page on Facebook, and/or follow me on Instagram.)

What happens after?

I’ll choose ONE winner in exactly four days, from now – save the date – December 14 is when this contest comes to a close! As soon as I announce the winner – which will either be on my Facebook or Instagram page (and through an e-mail, perhaps) – please write back to me with your postal address and phone number right away. (Will share the contact details with Snigdha who will directly post the tin of tea across to you, then.)

The “Fourth Year of Festivities” remains yours for the taking! Giveaway-gift-makin’.

{ Tea Trunk is a tea label founded by Snigdha Manchanda, a certified Tea Sommelier; she specialises in creating hand-blended teas. She can perhaps create a blend for you if you request for one, I would want a birthday tea complete with colourful sprinkles, if ever… Would that not be exciting? The packaging is so adorable, that the tins can be used as memento boxes for use, after consumption of the tea. I still have mine from last year! }
