O Christmas Tea { GIVEAWAY }

211 O Christmas Tea { GIVEAWAY }

Giveaway#4 is LIVE! Remember I had said that I wanted to host one more giveaway before the year ended… Well, it didn’t honestly seem likely or possible. Abandoned hope of sorts, and then a cheerful connoisseur of trunks of tea in the form of Snigdha Manchanda came a-knockin’! Christmas miracle, y’all. Okay, chitter-chatter aside – I am very excited to be giving away this box of tea. Part of a Limited Edition range by Tea Trunk; Mulled Spiced Tea combines the classic flavours of Christmas (That would be cinnamon, star anise and clove, accented by hearty apple, orange and cherry notes… Teas really are a lot like fragrances!), and sports a package coat designed by none other than (one of my favourite illustrators of all time… ) ALICIA SOUZA! Wowza.

Reminiscent of a rich, indulgent plum cake, I could not think of a better giveaway for this time of the year. This tea is inspired by mulled wine, and is made with whole leaf black Assam tea. Snigdha suggests drinking it as is, or adding in a splash of dark rum (Don’t mind if I do!)… Would it not be lovely sipping it as you sit by an open window at home on Christmas day, and while some of your folks are sleeping, you are happily reading a copy of Little Women (Okay, I am too excited!)… And now, the steps.

What’s in the Box?

1. Christmas tea! The BOX of Mulled Spiced Tea is what you are going to win, oh sweet reader. I believe it would be perfect for all of you tea drinkers out there, more so if you love Christmas just as much as I do.

2. Favourite feature? Snigdha was gracious enough to sponsor this box of tea for the giveaway; and, also, the illustrations created by Alicia are reason enough for me. (They are so adohreebal!)

Rules?

The rules are simple! (This giveaway is for Indian residents, only.)

1. Comment here on what excites you about/why you would like to win this delightful tin of tea.
2. Follow Tea Trunk on both Facebook & Instagram; this is not optional either. :-)

(Brownie points will be awarded to you if you are to ‘Like’ my page on Facebook, and/or follow me on Instagram.)

What happens after?

I’ll choose ONE winner in exactly four days, from now – save the date – December 14 is when this contest comes to a close! As soon as I announce the winner – which will either be on my Facebook or Instagram page (and through an e-mail, perhaps) – please write back to me with your postal address and phone number right away. (Will share the contact details with Snigdha who will directly post the tin of tea across to you, then.)

The “Fourth Year of Festivities” remains yours for the taking! Giveaway-gift-makin’.

{ Tea Trunk is a tea label founded by Snigdha Manchanda, a certified Tea Sommelier; she specialises in creating hand-blended teas. She can perhaps create a blend for you if you request for one, I would want a birthday tea complete with colourful sprinkles, if ever… Would that not be exciting? The packaging is so adorable, that the tins can be used as memento boxes for use, after consumption of the tea. I still have mine from last year! }

A Christmas Carol

160 A Christmas Carol

One of my very favourite classics is A Christmas Carol by Charles Dickens, and for some reason – when I think about the book, my brain conjures up a memory of Christmas pudding! Perhaps it’s because of that scene when Bob Cratchit’s wife brings out that glorious, flaming pudding for everyone at home or so, I don’t know… Well, pooh, let’s ignore my musings and ramblings for a minute, shall we!

Speaking of pudding, I love it so – especially the rich, alcohol-infused, fruity variety (yes, yes, the Christmas kind!)… There’s a particular supermarket in Al-Khobar (yes, I grew up in Saudi Arabia!) where you can buy it from, during this time of the year – man, I miss my kingdom days! Anyway, I’ve been thinking about the cheery cake a lot and here’s a little something that I came up with. ^.^

P.S. I know I haven’t dedicated a blog post to the winner of my giveaway but for those of you who have no clue, her name’s Prathma Sharma! And I sent her goodies over last week which she has already received and is very happy with. That, in turn, makes me sooper happy.

Joy to the World { GIVEAWAY }

Joy to the World, Giveaway, Christmas, Christmas Carols, Love, Peace, Festive, Cheer, Jupiter Skye, Birthday, Four

This is it, there’s no turning back now! Okay, I’m very excited to announce the first “ever” giveaway on my blog! It’s not international (haha, I’m not there yet!) but yes, this December will mark the beginning of my fourth year writing and illustrating here, so I wanted it to start on a cheery note. I’m giving away a little Christmas present – one that I’ve been happily plotting and planning for the past two months or so, and I bought everything last week for my special surprise. So if you’re a regular reader over here, and you’ve grown to like all things Jupiter Skye, there’s a fair chance you’re the kind of person who would want to win this! :-)

What’s in the Box?

1. A set of Ho! Ho! Ho! Christmas gift tags from Little One’s Doodles by Maheswari Janarthanan (There are fourteen of these in a packet; one of which is pictured above!).

2. Do you like bow-tie pins? There’s a red, felt ribbon-made one in here that I crafted.

3. Socks! Yes, socks. I found a darling pair with a pretty splatter of Christmas roses on them, at Forever 21.

4. A set of four cheery stickers that I designed and had printed last year! There are two of each design.

By the way, I’ve intentionally not included a picture of every little thing here because I want some of them to have that surprise element. Even so, I do hope that you are tempted enough to enter!

Rules?

The rules are simple! And I’m stating this again, this giveaway is for Indian Residents, only. I’ve never done this before so I didn’t want to mess up my first giveaway (if it gets lost across the seas, etc.). But otherwise… International giveaways? Sooner than you think! ;-)

1. Comment below saying why you would want to win this, and if there’s something more you would like to see on my blog (I know, I know, this is my dumb way of getting to hear what you really think!). Okay, so my comments are moderated – don’t fret if you don’t see yours published immediately! (And please don’t forget to include adding your e-mail address in the details box so I have yours saved on my system, I’ll need it to get in touch.)

2. For brownie points – you can ‘Like’ my page on Facebook, and follow me on Twitter! ^.^

What happens after?

I’ll choose ONE winner in exactly four days, save the date – December 4 is when this contest comes to an end! (Yes, it’s going to be that short because I would like you to win the Christmas stationery in time to use some of it like a happy little elf, and this is a bit unrelated but knowing me I’ll probably write each of your names on chits of paper to decide, haha.) As soon as I announce the winner – which will either be on my Facebook or Twitter page (and through an e-mail, perhaps) –  please write back to me with your postal address and phone number right away. I’ll mail the package across then, immediately through speed post!

That’s about it, and uh-huh, this marks the beginning of many, many more to come. Especially particularly during this year! The “Fourth Year of Festivities”, remember? Good luck!

The Snowman

#HowToDraw, A Series by Jupiter Skye, The Snowman, Snowman, Late November, Snow, White, D.I.Y, Draw

One of the most favourite (and loved) icons of Christmas, the snowman is one of the first things I ever attempted drawing. He could be found on the mini-holiday cards I made as a teenager, or on the yearly tree crafted as little P.O.P ornaments… I just love him so very dearly! Though I’m fond of Santa Claus too, he is still one Christmas figure I’ll always find the hardest to draw or even doodle but Snowy is just so easy to make. Cute, cuddly and cheery (though he really might be cold, hehe), he presents a very festive picture! ^.^

We’re a month away from Christmas, and I’m too excited! There’s so much to look forward to, and not many folks know this but Jupiter Skye was born around the same time as Christmas, in 2010. So this December will actually mark the beginning of my fourth year writing and illustrating, here! Speaking of which, there will be a whole “Fourth Year of Festivities” to look forward to. Please stay tuned because there is one sweet surprise coming up soooooooooooon… it’s something you wouldn’t want to miss, that’s all I’m going to say.

Lots of L’Amour!
