A Cream to Kiehl’s For

Kiehl's, Ultimate Strength Hand Salve from Kiehl's, Kiehl's Product Reviews, Product Reviews, Reviews, Hand Creams, Best Hand Creams in the Market

It’s been a whole month since my last product review, and I really wanted to write about this particular hand cream from Kiehl’s! This is the Ultimate Strength Hand Salve, as you can see in the pictures, and I bought it last November. Needless to say, I’ve been using it as much as I like, and it’s lasted me about nine months (this is a commendable mention because I tend to hoard creams and moisturizer products otherwise).

Because of a Kiehl’s event last year, I got to sample this lovely product as there was a 15 ml tube of the Ultimate Strength Hand Salve in my goodie bag (Praises!). I used the salve for a while and decided it was the ultimate hand cream for me (and I’m not even one of those girls who is known to have a small-sized tube in her bag at any given time)! Formulated using a blend of botanical oils like avocado, eucalyptus and sesame seed, as well as some natural wax derived from olive oil, and a bunch of other typical scientific ingredients (take a look at the second picture for a close-up), this hand cream smells medicinal but of the best possible kind. A generous application of the salve on your palms makes them feel soft and soothed, almost instantly (the eucalyptus helps).  For Rs. 800, 75 ml is a lot in my opinion, at least for hand cream (and it’s Kiehl’s – okay, okay you could point out that I’m a little biased).

In fact, I’ve been using the salve on my elbows (and sometimes heels too), and it works well. My skin definitely feels softer, and it’s a calming process, just applying it (best after a hot bath, for sure). I would totally recommend this cream (as compared to some of the scented varieties you can find in the market these days) if you’re the kind of girl who likes to spend wisely on her skin care habits. Especially since the formula is so strong (it’s been noted to work effectively on severely dry, active hands) it makes sense to buy (yeah, and if you’re a guitar-player or seamstress, you know what I mean – this cream is a lifesaver!)

Of course, if you don’t want to spend a bomb on just a hand cream, you can always opt to apply a few drops of olive oil on your skin or perhaps, petroleum jelly (if that works for you). I just have grown fond of Kiehl’s (and their products) this past year, so I thought I’d share the love. I’ll definitely consider purchasing this cream again, and guess what, it’s been such a lovely moisturizer especially now during the rains!

P.S. You should know that the Kiehl’s sales clerks are extremely helpful and knowledgeable; step into any of their stores in your city, explore and inspect the products carefully, and ask for advice and suggestions. They usually always test out the products you’re interested in on your skin, and will probably hand you complimentary samples as well (that last you about a week) so that you’re completely confident of your purchase, whenever you do make it. I have a BB Cream sample from my last visit to the store and I can’t wait to try it out! :-)

  1. Yay! I’m excited to see this review up :) Love the photos & layout. This sounds really nice. I’ve positively biased when it comes to Kiehl’s too. They seem to have minimal nasties in their products & the sales assistants are so nice & helpful. I recently broached the subject of a hand cream with mom but she convinced me to use something from our stash of body lotions / creams only. But I definitely would like to try this & something from Crabtree & Evelyn too.

    1. This is very nice! If you can get a sample first, try that before you pick up the full-size product at the store. I thoroughly approve of this cream, a total-value-for-money purchase, and I’m a little biased when it comes to Kiehl’s, as well! (I’m considering buying their BB Cream at some point. I tried a sample that lasted me two weeks… it felt really good on my skin.) ^.^
